The visit to Newcastle on this project turned out to be very useful. We gain some useful information and saw good practices on how to engage health and well being in companies. There is plenty of work waiting for us in the future and the work done under this project is a good way forward. We have learned that we need to change and adapt ways of communication towards workers, especially  trade union representatives and line managers.

We learned, that the main task of managers is to communicate with employees and provide them crystal clear objectives. Then, invite employees to suggest measures to achieve these goals.  " The "health and well being at work" is based on the dignity of employees and recognizing that workers are a key factor for business success employer. This management technique is based on the principle that every worker knows best what is needed to your job really well done, then head of the worker are invited to propose the best ways to carry out this work.

The primary focus of all partners in this project should be to promote what we have learned, and really try hard to implement this good practices in most of our employers in Slovenia.   We are all very satisfied with all the informations, results that we gained from this visit and we look forward for new activities that will follow.

“ The transnational seminar proved to be a huge success highlighting the commitment of the partners to the issue of Health and Wellbeing. It was particularly pleasing to see how the cultural difference between the attendees were transcended by the common desire to explore the options for practical solutions to a challenging topic. The seminar was an excellent mix between theory and research and the practical application of strategies to reduce stress and increase health and wellbeing in times of change”.

"The seminar was undoubtedly of great benefit. This is not only to point out examples of good practice, as similar examples exist for many years in Slovenia. More and more companies set up wellbeing programs for employees, both general programs and specific programs adapted to changes in the company. This is the case especially for large and medium companies in Slovenia, while at the seminar, measures and programs for smaller companies were presented, that is programs for the companies which have only limited resources. It is important also to realize the necessity of a systematic approach in providing health and wellbeing of employees, which is a common deficiency of already introduced programs.

In providing health and wellbeing, it should be remembered that the measures and programs should not be introduces only at the time of changes, but must be already in place significantly earlier. In such case, only minor adaptations to the changes are required. Preparing for changes should therefore begin when the changes are not even planned yet."

Transnational seminar in Newcastle was extremely successful. It was an opportunity for all the partners on the project to meet for the first time and to exchange knowledge and good practice examples on how to engage health and wellbeing in companies.
As we have heard many employers increasingly realize that health and employee satisfaction has to be improved because the biggest cost of each company is employee on sick leave. Only healthy and happy worker is highly productive and longer stays true to parent company, and therefore has fulfilling private life.

It was also interesting and inspirational to visit Termo Fisher Scientific Company. This company is a very good example that it is possible to improve the quality of work and life of workers with low costs. Workers have positive attitude, they are creative and involved, and this is why managers think that the workers are the key factor for their business success.
